IT’S TIME TO ROCK OUT FOR CHARITY at Rock Against Cancer 2018 this Saturday 16th June from midday until 1:00am Sunday morning. The charity concert is being held in aid of the AECC , the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Torrevieja.
This is the third successive year that Rock Against Cancer has taken place and the organisers, Monroe’s Rock Cafe, and Torrevieja Council’s department for NGO’s (youth, commerce and culture) are hoping to raise even more than last years outstanding total of €5,300.
Torrevieja Councillor Carmen Morate said “this event improves every year, due in part to the quality and popularity of the bands taking part, the increasing amount of activities planned for the event, and the important fact that it is an inclusive family event that attracts people of all ages”.
The Rock Against Cancer charity event will kick off at midday with the family activites which include a Sh’Bam session, an insanely addictive cardio based group dance workout taught by Monica Eloise from the Les Mills International fitness centre at Real Club Nautico Torrevieja.
The afternoon will feature a percussion workshop presented by Pepe Abellan, and yoga classes for childern with instruction from the Lola Morales & Arantxa Blanco dance centre.
In addition, there will be live music and dance performances throughout the afternoon, and choreography sessions from the local Torrevieja dance school Soul Dance Studio and Paya’s Dance Academy.
Face painting and bouncy castles will be available to provide an array of entertainment for younger children.
An inclusive family-friendly local Costa Blanca event
As always, entry to Rock Against Cancer is completely free and visitors to the event will be lucky enough to see some of the most popular bands in the area performing live on stage.
Some of the headline acts performing this year include Kolted, The Cages, Wild Freedom, and Copper Age; and together they encompass a variety of musical styles from gospel music, to hard rock and punk.
It has been revealed that the punk rock band Sensa Yuma will be flying directly back from Germany, where they have just completed their farewell tour of Europe. Their performance at Rock Against Cancer will be the last gig of their career.
The main show starts at 5:00pm with Sonic Blue opening the event, followed by a succession of bands lining up behind them to take to the stage and add their support to the event.
|El Despertar Del Silencio||6:15pm|
A food truck is being provided by El Caballete, and they will be on hand providing food and beverages with their own twist on casual food including burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
