The Orihuela Costa San Juan Festival in La Zenia

ORIHUELA COSTA celebrates the second annual San Juan festivities next month. From Thursday 12th until Monday 30th June, the Comisión de Fiestas Orihuela Costa is expected to organise daytime and evening activities to mark the historic Spanish festival.

The traditional fiesta typically encompasses music, dance performances, gastronomy, fireworks, competitions, and 18 days of the best entertainment from local musicians and acclaimed DJs.

Every evening from 19:00 to 01:00 at Zenia Boulevard's car park, visitors will find a stage with live music and talent competitions, a fair and crafts market, a bonfire, and speciality bars serving food and drinks.

Highlights of the Orihuela Costa San Juan Festival include the official inauguration party, organised family-friendly events and children's activities, and a spectacular finale evening with fireworks.

Programme information isn't currently available, but the opening ceremony should take place on Friday 13th June, when the lighting display will be illuminated for the first time. The opening session usually takes place from around 19:00.

The San Juan celebrations are expected to offer spectacular evening performances by local dance associations, the return of the San Juan bonfire party, and the election of the Queen and Knight of the celebrations.

Last year's organised daytime events included a gymkhana and games, a giant paella party, and outdoor Zumba sessions on Playa de La Glea and Playa Barranco Rubio beaches. These events are expected to return in addition to some new activities, and the official programme will be published here as soon as it's available.
