24-hour shops, late night and bank holiday shopping in Orihuela Costa

SHOPPING IN ORIHUELA COSTA Arriving in Spain on a Sunday or on a late flight can be problematic for new arrivals and holidaymakers in Spain. Particularly at this time of year, Sunday trading requirements can mean that the majority of shops are closed for one day each week, and finding those essential supplies can be almost impossible.

From bottled water and fresh bread, to milk and household grocery products, shopping in Orihuela Costa early and late is something many of us need to do, and running out of staple foods on bank holidays can be an issue for us all. (You can follow this link for a list of all public and bank holidays).

Thankfully, over the last couple of years, the establishment of one-stop shops and mini-markets has expanded throughout the Orihuela Costa area, and late-night, out-of-hours, and even 24-hour shopping is now a possibility throughout the year.

Many shops offer extended opening hours in the American 7-Eleven convenience store format, or follow a similar service to the Tesco Express stores in the United Kingdom, usually centred around a petrol filling station offering a choice of shopping around the clock.
