First New Years Eve Torrevieja party announced for city

NEW YEARS EVE TORREVIEJA party announced for the Mediterranean coastal city, to be held in the Plaza de la Constitución on 31st December 2022 starting at 23:00 and ending at 01:30 in the new year.

Torrevieja Town Hall announced the event last Friday evening, and the municipal celebration will be the first sponsored New Years Eve party for the city.

With a budget exceeding 87.000 €, a DJ performing live to the city crowds, and colourful confetti cannons, the inaugural New Years Eve party promises to be a landmark spectacle as grand and vibrant as the city's annual carnival.

Part of a packed social calendar organised by the Town Hall, the party is just one element of a festive events schedule that includes traditional Christmas shows, captivating music, and spectacular dance over the forthcoming weeks.

The Plaza de la Constitución has been one of the most popular public locations in Torrevieja to wave goodbye to the outgoing year for many years, and whilst the Town Hall has always invested in Christmas activities, they have never dared to throw a New Years Eve party before now.

A schedule of Christmas events for the children

So it's fitting that the pretty city square should host the grand end-of-year municipal party, and the Town Hall has ensured that everyone is catered for during the season of goodwill, with inclusive events for children and family-friendly fun.

On Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th December from 12:30 children will be able to create their own Christmas cards upon which they can write their festive wishes. The cards will be hung on the trees in the square, already laden with Christmas decorations.

A children's Christmas performance takes place on Monday 26th December at 12:00 midday. The show, naturally lead by Christmas elves, features festive songs and dances that the little ones will find magical and enchanting.

And on Friday 30th December the Plaza will host an afternoon of creative activities and children's workshops, replete with an artificial snow cannon that will bring the rare sight of “snow” to Torrevieja.

A traditional Christmas concert with live music will take place this coming Sunday 18th December starting at 20:30, and on Thursday 22nd December the “Zambomba Navideña” flamenco show is scheduled to grace the Plaza de la Constitución from 21:15.
